The permanent exhibition "People of Kapfenburg Castle" gives insights into the various activities at Kapfenburg Castle. For this purpose, the multi award-winning photographer Ralf Baumgarten worked for two years on his black-and-white-photographs of guests, artists, staff members as well as cultural figures, politicians and business people in order to create evocative and moody images.

The freely accessible exhibition is situated on the 1st and 2nd floor of the castle. The accompanying illustrated book can be purchased at the castle's reception desk.

Ralf Baumgarten

Ralf Baumgarten was born in Saarbruecken and studied at the University of Wuppertal, graduating in Communication Design. Since then, he works as a freelance photo designer mainly for companies. When he's not shooting camels in Dubai, gas sources in Argentina or watchmaker in Japan, you can find him at his own photo-studio in Cologne. His books "UhrMenschen" and "Twelve Faces of Time" were rewarded with design prizes.
